Katonah is a yoga system based in sacred geometry and Taoism, designed by Nevine Michaan. It lends form and framework that create a blueprint in the body. Much like you need a map to know where you are going, Katonah shows you how to navigate where you are in our practice. The foundation of this practice is to refine and redefine poses, with variations and techniques to find a better fit in your body.
Expect the use of props, such as yoga chairs, blocks, bolsters and sandbags to support you in longer holds. I like to give adjustments (when needed) as each class tailors to your individual needs.
We alternate from regular Katonah yoga, to Katonah with Chairs weekly.
Yoga is not just about flexibility of the body, it’s also about calming the mind - for that I will sometimes use restorative poses, Somatics, resilience techniques, breath work and guided meditation, to manage stress and anxiety etc.

Classes are for all levels of fitness — from beginner to intermediate. Every body is different, for example - there will be beginners that are more flexible than others. Katonah meets you where you are at in your practice. I will give options to suit your body and give adjustments when needed.
Use the DROP IN option, for any class when it suits you. Join in at any stage - every week there is something different.
5 CLASS PASS - if you like my classes and want to come regularly, buying a pass offers additional discount. You can use your pass for either the Monday or Wednesday class (or both) until they are used up. The pass is valid from date of purchase for 2 months - no extensions.
Concession discount is for — student; unemployed; low waged; NHS workers and retirees - (no questions asked)
Once you’ve booked, you are automatically assigned to that class. Please let me know if you want to change to attend another class email me info@helenalavery.com
Can’t make a class please email me info@helenalavery.com (no later than 2 hours before class)
Please stay home if your having any cold or flu like symptoms, or generally feeling unwell
Please try to arrive 5 to 10 minutes before the class to get set up
Wherever possible please bring your own mat
